Artist Statement

Since a very young age I have had a deep desire to connect with people. Painting has been a way to bridge the raw energies of the subconscious and a way to communicate to the world. I use acrylic to paint familiar objects that appear other worldly and mysterious. The language of painting is fascinating to me and like dreams it's hard to articulate. For me art provides an alternate way of viewing the world on its own terms.

Painting fulfills my desire to be absolutely hands-on in the act of creation. For me, painting has essentially become a meditative practice. Now as a painter, every stroke I make I become absorbed in the moment. I believe my work reflects that for which I strive: seeing the universal connection to all things -- beauty, clarity and simplicity in life.
